Project Aasha celebrated its 10 year anniversary on the 19th of September 2025 at Clinical Sciences Building, marking the success, achievement and durability of the project. In commemoration of this milestone, some 60 student alumni, as well as faculty from various institutions including NUH, SIT and NUS attended the celebratory dinner.

The evening kicked off with a warm introduction by the project’s founding doctor, Dr. Kumaran, who shared reflections on the journey and legacy of Project Aasha. Guests were then invited to enjoy a buffet-style dinner, featuring both international cuisine and Nepalese delicacies such as Momos, a dish that evoked memories of past trips for many alumni.

While dining, attendees listened to personal sharing sessions from representatives of different batches of alumni, including medical students, students-turned-doctors, and physiotherapists, who spoke about their experiences and the impact of the project on their professional growth. It was an eye-opening sharing as everyone got to learn about the different experiences from the various trips, enhancing their knowledge about Project Aasha.

The evening ended on a heartfelt note with a cake-cutting ceremony — a joyful celebration of ten years of friendship, service, and shared purpose. Laughter and memories filled the room, and many took home new snapshots from the photo booth to remember the special night.

Overall, the event was filled with warmth and nostalgia, rekindling old friendships and sparking new excitement for what’s to come. Even after the formal program ended, many alumni lingered — laughing, reminiscing, and celebrating the lasting bonds that make Project Aasha feel like family.
Project Aasha would like to thank all past and present members for their dedication to the project, and hopes to see the continued support of alumni for its current initiatives.
