The LKCMEDICINE House System
The LKCMedicine House System comprises eight different Houses — including Marie Curie, Alexander Fleming, Lim Boon Keng, William Osler and Wu Lien-Teh, and 3 new houses Cynthia Goh, Rosalind Franklin and Joseph Lister that were inaugurated since the batch of 2029.
House Tutors
House tutors are faculty or staff members who act as dedicated mentors within the school's unique House System. They guide students through their medical journey, offering academic and personal support, fostering a strong sense of community, and helping them develop into resilient and effective doctors.
House Families
One defining support system LKC has is the House Family System where a group of 4-6 students in a house are assigned to seniors and juniors within the same House. This creates.a closely bonded system of friends, seniors and juniors where guidance and knowledge can be shared throughout the years in LKC, creating an environment of cooperation and teamwork lasting through the houses.
Counsellor-Counsellee
The Counsellor-Counselee system, launched by the 2020 Freshmen Orientation Programme Committee, aims to strengthen the House Family structure by pairing each freshman with a senior buddy. This initiative fosters candid junior-senior relationships, easing the transition into medical school and supporting students through key milestones like the shift from preclinical to clinical years and beyond. By creating a longitudinal buddy system, it promotes deeper inter-batch connections and a more cohesive medical community.
