Project Songkeum has been running programmes devoted to increasing the health literacy of the villagers in Cambodia since 2015.

ABOUT US

Songkeum means hope in Khmer! We aim to empower them to make better healthcare decisions by imparting invaluable healthcare information. Our trip also offers an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the Cambodian healthcare practices through learning journeys to local healthcare and education institutions.

Our distinguishing factor: well-rounded focus on health screening, health education for both adults and children, and vocational training and house visits, contributing to the betterment of the lives of Cambodians!

Objectives of Project

The mission of Project Songkeum is to help the Cambodian community build better lives for themselves through health screening and health education, and vocational training for those transitioning to the next phase of their lives.

Activities Conducted

We work with the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco to reach out to the underprivileged in Phnom Penh and Mondulkiri through the following:

- Connect patients to local healthcare providers, supporting continuity of care

Health Education

- Cover topics tailored to the unique needs of each community such as medicine literacy, nutrition and more

- Closely aligned with health screening to create a sustainable impact for locals

Vocational Training (Unique to Songkeum!)
