ABOUT US
OCIP Chiang Mai is a student-led programme that offers health screening services and health education in Phrao district in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In partnership with the Little Candles Methodist Church in Phrao, OCIP Chiang Mai seeks to raise awareness of prevalent medical conditions, and to fill the gaps in health screening.
Our team of doctors for the 2025 trip to Phrao consists of Prof Tham Kum Ying, Dr David Lim, 1 radiologist, 6 paediatricians, 2 family medicine doctors, 2 eemrgency medicine specialists, 1 infectious disease specialist, 1 PGY2, 1 physiotherapist, and 1 translator. Our student team comprises of 6 M1s, 6 M2s, 6 M3s, 4 M4s, and 1 dental student. Our team works with Phrao Hospital, 4 clinics, and 8 schools in the Phrao district, where we will be conducting health screenings and health education sessions. In our 2023 trip, our team also conducted a First Aid training session for the teachers at Little Candles Kindergarten. Apart from overseas efforts, OCIP Chiang Mai also had a donation drive in 2022 to collect donations of winter clothes for the villagers of Mae Soon village.
