Project Angel is a group of passionate medical students who serve members with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

ABOUT US

Project Angel is a group of passionate medical students dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Asperger’s Syndrome are often misunderstood, leading to social, mental, and emotional challenges for the individuals and their families.

By partnering with local organisations such as St Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC), we aim to build rapport, foster inclusion, and raise awareness of these conditions within our community.

AY24/25 Events

1. Walk of a Lifetime
Held at St Andrew’s Junior College, this 1.6 km walk across the St Andrew’s school campuses raised awareness of autism. Volunteers from LKCMedicine were stationed to provide refreshments for the participants.

2. Volunteering at SAAC
Every Wednesday, committee members visit SAAC’s Siglap campus to assist in the students’ CCA activities. With disabilities ranging from moderate to severe, volunteers gain invaluable first-hand experience interacting with persons with special needs.

3. Chinese New Year Party at Bishan Home
Project Angel celebrated the festive season with elderly residents of Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled, hosting a series of CNY-themed games and activities that brought joy to the residents.

Through Project Angel, you’ll find fulfilment in meaningful, hands-on interactions with underrepresented groups; learning empathy, patience, and communication that go far beyond the classroom.
